Background / Creative Brief 
Positive Prevention +P quarterly newsletter is published by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). 
Each issue covers one HIV prevention topic in depth. To reinforce the mission every title starts with the word “Positive”. Positive Testing, Positive Sex, Positive Care, Positive Support etc. 
 
Agency Solution 
Spear created the +P masthead by merging the iconic AIDS ribbon logo, the plus sign and the capital letter P. 
We created a look that is very upbeat and easy-to-read by incorporating panels of bold color with stock photographs of real people making the articles and reference material assessable, informative and above all positive.
 
Results / ROI 
Positive Prevention quarterly newsletter was a huge success, it ran for four consecutive years. It would have run even longer if it had not ran out of government funding.
